About this event

Modern slavery is happening in Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster and it is everyone's responsibility to help tackle it. Come along to free training to find out how.

What is modern slavery?

Modern slavery affects millions of men, women and children worldwide and thousands are being exploited here in the UK, and even in our boroughs.

If someone is being forced to work for little or no pay, being forced into selling sexual services or being forced into criminal activity, they may be victims of modern slavery.

By recognising the signs of modern slavery and knowing how to respond, you can support the most vulnerable people in our community and help prevent this crime from happening.

By the end of the session, you will know:

  • What modern slavery is and the different forms of exploitation
  • The signs you can spot
  • The reasons victim/survivors might not ask for help
  • The support available for them
  • Understand your role in tackling modern slavery and how you can share this information with your community

Who is this training for?

This training session is designed for community, voluntary and faith groups in Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster. You don't need existing knowledge of modern slavery, just an interest to find out more!

The organisers reserve the right to cancel places. If you are unsure whether you should attend, please contact robyn.phillips@stopthetraffik.org

Our borough has a Coordinated Community Response to ending modern slavery and exploitation. This means no one person or organisation can tackle this issue alone. We are all responsible and can play our part in spotting the signs, knowing how to respond and helping to prevent modern slavery from happening.

We look forward to seeing you there!
